Very comfortable.
I used to be able to count on them lasting several years with 2x a week wear or sometimes more. Now 1-2 years tops, but only if I'm willing to stitch belt loops back when they come loose.
I seriously doubt that it's genuine leather. But it is well worth the price.
I recommend it.
It is $12.99 for a reason, and I don't think the Steve Madden company would actually sell this. I am returning it for a refund.
I am only giving this 4 stars because it claims the bag is waterproof. I would call the bag water resistant. During our trip, it rained almost everyday. Most of the days my umbrella covered the bag and was able to keep the bag dry, but on one day, during a heavier rain, the bag got damp on my back. One of the maps that was in the bag was damp and the bag it self was damp. I just took everything out that night and let it dry over night. During the next heavy rain, I just covered my backpack with my raincoat.
After 11 days, of intense travel, this bag still looks brand new! I will totally use this backpack again for travel! I enjoyed it so much that I recommended it to a friend who purchased it for her trip to Rome.
